‘Renewing You’ Day with The Ladies of SBJC and Rev Nafisa Sharriff

What a GREAT day of MEDITATION!!!

Books, Classes, Tests, etc. What better way to start the day than a meditation lesson from Rev. Nafisa Sharriff.  Rev. Nafisa Sharriff is the Founder of Entering the Holy of Holies, a 501 (c)(3) Not for Profit specilaizing in meditation and spiritual tools for transformation.

The Women of SBJC opened up their hearts and minds to a day of ‘Renewal’. The workout was ‘PHENOMENAL’ and the students along with Staff shared a moment of African dancing!!

Rev. Nafisa Sharriff

Beyond her spiritual career, Reverend Sharriff is a masterful instructor of traditional West African folklore from the Old Malian Empire. Over the course of her illustrious dance career, Reverend Sharriff has been the recipient of the 1996 Ethnic Dance Award and numerous community service commemorations. She has performed with Stevie Wonder, Spike Lee, TC Carson, The Chuck Davis Dance Company and The Kairaba West African Dance Company. She can also be seen in numerous music videos with artists such as Anita Baker, Kool Moe Dee & Angelique Kidjo. Reverend Sharriff’s theatrical credits for choreography include the Obie Award winning play, “Blown Sideways Through Life,” “Spiritual Journey” (Apollo/EST) & “A Joyful Noise” starring Whitney Houston, Cissy Houston and Leon Thomas. Her television credits include performances on the Richard Pryor Show, Dance Black America and Positively Black. In addition, she choreographed, “Cantos Latinos,” starring Eddie Palmieri and Los Hovenes del Barrio for PBS channel 13.
