Captain Tashany Myers was born and raised in Harlem in the early 70’s a time when drugs and crime plagued the neighborhoods. Somehow she persevered and later graduated from Grace H. Dodge High School in the Bronx. After graduating HS she later attended college where she studied nursing.

In 1996 she graduated college and soon after held her licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York. Her work experience includes, medical surgical nursing, intensive care nursing emergency nursing, prison health nursing and primary care nursing.

In between graduating nursing school Ms. Myers joined the Army Reserves in 1996 and went off to basic combat training at Ft. Jackson, South Carolina. In 1998 she was commissioned as 2nd Lieutenant into the Army Nurse Corp. where she serves as a nurse assigned to the Emergency Medical Section of a combat support hospital.

In 2005 Captain Myers was called to active duty to serve her country. She completed a one year tour In Iraq with a combat support hospital. She worked in Emergency/Trauma caring for the wounded.
